Job Description
– Conduct nursing assessments using various methods and tools.
– Develop and customize care plans based on family needs, regularly evaluating and documenting any changes.
– Create teaching plans to address patient and family learning needs, assessing preferences and motivation to learn, with ongoing evaluations.
– Provide nursing care in accordance with established protocols, proactively addressing emergent situations.
– Communicate effectively with families and the multidisciplinary team to assess healthcare needs and relay patient status changes, utilizing resources for referrals or consultations.
– Stay current in nursing practices through relevant literature and research.
– Integrate hospital and departmental quality initiatives into daily tasks.
– Uphold standards of communication, service excellence, and professionalism that align with the hospital’s mission.
– Collaborate with team members to achieve unit and hospital goals.
– Identify personal learning needs and seek resources for professional development.
– Perform job functions with a focus on innovation, service excellence, and teamwork to ensure the highest quality care.
– Demonstrate knowledge and competency in protocols related to chemical disinfection and sterilization as required.
Minimum Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred; ASN with relevant experience may be considered if the candidate commits to obtaining a BSN within a year of hire.
– Current registered nurse licensure in Illinois, in good standing.
– Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
– Strong communication skills with patients, families, physicians, and staff.
– Special certifications may be required by the department.
