Senior Financial Analyst – Data Center Planning and Delivery

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a highly motivated Senior Financial Analyst to join its Data Center Planning and Delivery division. This position is ideal for professionals who enjoy working across multiple teams to influence business strategies, manage budgets, and deliver insights that drive operational excellence. You will play a key role in ensuring that AWS data centers meet capacity demands efficiently and cost-effectively.

About the Role

The Senior Financial Analyst will support the Power and Cooling Procurement and Supply Chain organization, working closely with construction, procurement, engineering, and program management teams. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to translate data into meaningful financial insights that guide executive decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain annual and monthly financial performance targets.
  • Perform variance analysis and prepare financial reports for senior leaders.
  • Gain deep understanding of data center electrical and mechanical systems, focusing on cost drivers and supplier strategies.
  • Identify inefficiencies in existing processes and develop automated or streamlined solutions.
  • Lead cost reduction and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to shape sourcing and supply chain management strategies.
  • Participate in supplier contract reviews and support risk assessment activities.
  • Drive complex projects that align with business goals and deliver measurable results.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in finance, accounting, tax, or a related analytical field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, accounting, or a quantitative discipline such as engineering or computer science.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Four or more years of experience in process improvement or automation initiatives.
  • MBA or CPA certification.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Oracle, SAP, Essbase, or similar systems.
  • Familiarity with Tableau or related data visualization tools.
  • Understanding of Lean or Six Sigma practices.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from $60,200 to $128,800, based on experience, skill set, and location.
