Role Summary

The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead the design and oversight of electrical systems for building projects, including power distribution, lighting, emergency and UPS systems, renewable energy, low-voltage coordination, and fire alarm systems. The position also involves direct collaboration with architects, clients, and contractors to ensure project delivery from concept through construction.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the planning and execution of electrical design for construction projects.
  • Mentor junior engineers, providing technical support and leadership.
  • Develop drawings, specifications, schematics, and calculations for project deliverables.
  • Review and stamp design documents, ensuring compliance with regulations and project requirements.
  • Coordinate with owners, architects, and contractors through effective communication and project meetings.
  • Apply engineering techniques, research, and best practices to solve design challenges.
  • Select and specify appropriate components and systems in alignment with project goals.
  • Evaluate client requirements, technical documents, and cost considerations for system feasibility.
  • Review contractor and vendor submittals, ensuring conformance with design intent.
  • Work closely with colleagues across disciplines to meet schedules and deliver quality results.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in MEP design, particularly in a consulting environment.
  • Strong technical proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Proven project management experience with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Background across various sectors such as healthcare, higher education, commercial, and K-12 facilities.
  • Experience building and maintaining long-term client and partner relationships.
