Job Description

Our company is looking for an experienced Engineering Project Lead to join our Indianapolis team. As an Engineering Project Lead, you will take responsibility for planning, designing, and managing engineering projects. The role includes preparing technical reports, calculations, design drawings, and project specifications. You will work closely with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely and efficient project delivery. This position also provides the opportunity to mentor junior engineers, contribute to project planning, and ensure technical quality throughout all stages of work.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate design and engineering tasks for assigned projects.
  • Oversee project budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Prepare and review scopes of work, cost estimates, and project documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, internal teams, and external partners.
  • Guide junior engineers and review their work to maintain accuracy and standards.
  • Support business development by assisting with proposal preparation and project presentations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and engineering regulations.
  • Utilize design tools and software to produce accurate and efficient technical outputs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with at least six years of related experience, or
  • Master’s degree in Engineering with five years of experience, or
  • PhD in Engineering with four years of experience.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in Engineering.
  • Eight years of experience in transportation or infrastructure design.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility to obtain one.
  • American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification if applicable.
