About the Opportunity
Our B2B Solutions division develops cutting-edge capabilities that provide corporate clients with enhanced security, control, and enriched data for supplier payment processes. As a key member of this essential team within Global Commercial Services, you will spearhead strategic initiatives that directly impact American Express’s corporate client relationships and business growth.
Core Responsibilities
Lead comprehensive product strategy development based on market analysis, customer insights, competitive positioning, and business objectives to shape our three-year global roadmap. Design complete customer journey experiences while establishing business requirements through collaboration with Product Development, Technology, pricing, risk management, and GCO teams.
Conduct thorough customer research initiatives including surveys, focus group sessions, client interviews, and experimental testing to validate product concepts. Partner with external vendors and international American Express teams to successfully launch products and feature enhancements across multiple markets.
Create comprehensive go-to-market frameworks and sales enablement programs designed to drive product adoption and increase transaction volumes domestically and internationally. Take full ownership of product profit and loss management while identifying key growth drivers and profitability enhancement opportunities.
Establish success metrics and monitoring systems to guide product backlog prioritization and generate actionable customer insights. Serve as a recognized thought leader in the B2B payments industry through active participation in industry events and strategic discussions.
Required Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of three years professional experience with demonstrated project management capabilities and proven success in managing multiple concurrent initiatives from initial concept through final implementation.
Strong collaborative leadership skills are essential, including the ability to influence outcomes across complex organizational structures while coordinating with Field operations, internal GCS partners, and broader American Express teams.
Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities are required, particularly for frequent interactions with executive leadership and key clients. Candidates should demonstrate comfort working in dynamic, rapidly evolving environments while maintaining high performance standards.
Previous experience translating diverse data sources and customer feedback into coherent strategic vision and actionable plans is necessary. Success in ambiguous, fast-paced situations is a critical requirement for this role.
Preferred Background
A bachelor’s degree is preferred along with previous product management or management consulting experience. Knowledge of procure-to-pay processes, tail spend management, and supplier payment systems will be considered advantageous.
Compensation Details
This position offers an annual salary range of $123,000 to $215,250, plus performance-based bonus opportunities and comprehensive benefits. Final compensation decisions will consider geographic location, relevant experience, and additional job-related factors.
