Position Title: Elementary Teacher (H1B Visa Sponsorship Available)
Reports To: Campus Director
Department/School: Academic – Assigned Bob Hope Campus
Classification: Full-Time, Exempt
Compensation: Per 2025–2026 Teacher Salary Schedule (prorated based on employment term)
Role Overview
The Elementary Teacher plays a vital role in creating meaningful learning experiences that nurture academic, social, emotional, and physical growth. The goal is to guide students in developing the knowledge and skills needed to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required.
- Valid Texas teaching certification with appropriate endorsements preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong command of assigned subjects, curriculum, and instructional strategies.
- Effective classroom and behavior management skills.
- Ability to design lessons that accommodate diverse learning styles.
- Strong organization, communication, and collaboration abilities.
- Proficiency in both English and Spanish required.
- Flexibility to adapt to evolving instructional needs.
Core Responsibilities
- Design, prepare, and deliver lesson plans consistent with district curriculum expectations and aligned with state standards.
- Adapt instruction for diverse learners, incorporating modifications for students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Integrate effective teaching practices, technology, and varied instructional materials to support student growth.
- Assess student progress regularly using formal and informal methods and use data to guide instruction.
- Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and administrators to establish goals and refine instructional methods.
- Provide guidance to teacher aides and volunteers as needed.
- Encourage effective study habits and academic skills development.
- Participate in extracurricular and enrichment opportunities as designated by the campus director.
- Maintain a structured, supportive, and engaging classroom environment conducive to learning and personal development.
- Uphold student behavioral expectations as outlined in the Student Code of Conduct.
- Ensure the safety of students, resources, and school facilities by taking appropriate precautions.
- Establish strong communication with students, parents, and colleagues regarding attendance, achievement, and behavior.
- Maintain accurate student records, grading, and attendance data in compliance with district policy.
- Engage in professional development to continuously improve instructional strategies.
- Adhere to all school, district, and state policies while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Actively contribute to committees, faculty meetings, and team planning sessions.
- Adjust instructional delivery as necessary for both in-person and distance learning environments.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
Work Environment & Conditions
Equipment:
Computers, peripherals, and standard office/classroom equipment as needed for instruction.
Mental Demands:
- Clear and effective communication skills.
- Ability to analyze and interpret policies, procedures, and data.
- Maintain professionalism and composure in stressful situations.
Physical Demands:
- Regular standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, and sitting on the floor.
- Occasional lifting and moving of classroom materials or equipment.
- May include minimal exposure to biological hazards.
