Lateral Projects is a fast-growing construction company proudly based in Lakes Entrance, Victoria. We deliver high-quality residential and commercial building services, including maintenance, repairs, and large-scale construction across East Gippsland. With a reputation built on craftsmanship and reliability, we are now looking for a motivated Carpenter to strengthen our team.

The Opportunity

This role is ideal for a qualified carpenter who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in delivering detail-driven, safe, and lasting results. You will be working on a wide variety of projects, from residential fit-outs to commercial frameworks, while collaborating closely with other trades and contractors.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Construct, repair, and install timber and other material-based structures and fixtures
• Read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications
• Measure, cut, shape, and join materials with precision
• Build frameworks for walls, floors, and roofing structures
• Assemble fittings, furniture, and prepared wood structures
• Inspect, maintain, and replace damaged structural components
• Ensure work meets Australian building codes and safety standards
• Contribute effectively within a team and on independent tasks

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Carpentry (or equivalent international qualification that meets Australian standards)
• White Card (Construction Induction Card)

Experience

• At least 3 years of recent carpentry experience in residential and/or commercial projects
• Proven ability in both construction and maintenance work

Skills & Knowledge

• Solid understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and building codes
• Skilled with hand tools and power equipment
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
• Strong initiative and problem-solving skills
• Able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

Other Requirements

• Current Driver’s Licence
• Legal right to work in Australia (visa sponsorship may be available for suitable international applicants under the Skilled Migration Program)
