Job Description
Overview:
Position Type: 0.9 FTE (36 hours per week)
Shift: Day/Night Rotating OR Straight Night Shift (7:00 pm – 7:30 am)
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Compensation: Starting at $36.18 per hour, plus shift and weekend differentials. Pay based on experience.
Pay Increase: $2.00/hour after successful completion of department orientation.
Job Description Summary:
The Registered Nurse ensures that patients navigate their care journey efficiently and safely while prioritizing quality. This role involves delegating, directing, and overseeing patient care while promoting a developmentally appropriate approach. As a professional nurse, this position advocates for patients in line with the ANA Code of Ethics, maintaining a current Ohio Nursing License.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Provide nursing care using a Family-Centered approach, tailoring care to meet each patient’s unique needs.
- Communication & Teamwork: Assess patients’ needs and effectively communicate with LPNs, PCAs, Unit Coordinators, and Allied Health personnel to ensure care priorities are understood and met.
- Evidence-Based Practices: Plan, implement, educate, and evaluate patient care based on the latest evidence-based practices.
- Therapeutic Communication: Maintain therapeutic communication with patients and families, addressing their physical, psychological, and social needs.
- Workplace Engagement: Stay informed about changes in the workplace, participate in data collection and quality improvement initiatives, and represent the staff at meetings. Relay key updates to colleagues.
- Documentation: Accurately document all care activities in accordance with organizational standards, policies, and procedures.
Education Requirements:
Required: BSN or an Associate’s degree with a commitment to obtain a BSN within five years of hire.
Licensure Requirements:
Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
Certifications:
Current CPR certification required.
Willingness to obtain and maintain additional certifications such as NRP, PALS, ACLS, APHON, or others as determined by your manager.
